Republicans are saying it is Democrats fault for Foley because they supported the page system.

Foley is responsible for his own pedophilia. You cannot lay the blame for his actions at the feet of either party.

But if the GOP leadership KNEW of Foley's indiscretions and did nothing about it or covered it up, then the GOP IS responsible for every page he molested after the first one they knew about.

Others in the past, Democrats and Republicans, have admitted to consentual sexual affairs with pages. What makes Foley especially slimy is that his advances were not consentual, they were not appreciated, and Foley is supposed to be the top dog in D.C. on protecting minors from exactly this sort of thing. It's the hypocracy as much as the act itself. And it's also the hypocracy of the 'family values' GOP as they struggle to deal with this.

Foley is Foleys fault. It was once said that the moral test of Government is how that Government treats those who are in the dawn of life, the children; those who are in the twilight of life, the elderly; and those who are in the shadows of life, the sick, the needy and the handicapped. Foley has failed us miserably.
