Switch to firefox ASAP. IE has so many bugs you'll end up filling your computer with viruses. Firefox has a built in script blocker which is invaluable.
Its not that hard, download the program, run it. It has all the functions of IE.
If you still have that nagging feeling of using IE (I did for the first couple days), you can use Netscape. It basically combines the firefox and IE browsing engines into one program. It will use IE for faster browsing on sites that are verified SAFE. Firefox provides security for unknown sites. Netscape does this automatically and without changing the default settings it is very user friendly. It also has advances features that many tech-savvy people want.

In my opinion it's easy as pie. You can even import your old IE bookmarks into firefox. I use firefox all the time although I have nothing against IE. What has me hooked on firefox is all the great plugins that allow you to do a million and one things compared to IE. Firefox gets security patches released much quicker than IE and thus I think I'm a much safer surfer because of that.
The best way to answer your question is just for you to download and try. If you don't like it uninstall it, it's that simple. Just make sure you download from the official site so that you know you're getting good code without any extry junk or spyware.

Get a friend to help you. If IE doesnt not allow you to access a site, maybe the administrator of your system is not allowing certain websites for you to access. Firefox is simply just another browser. You can download it from the internet and use it instead of IE. However, there is no guarrantee that your system will allow you to access the website in question with FIrefox.

Firefox is a browser like Internet Exploder, except Firefox is more secure, meaning less chance of getting hacked into and safer for your PC
United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team:
"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE domain/zone...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/713878
PcWorld Magazine:
"...a virtual engraved invitation to hackers and other digital delinquents, Internet Explorer 6.x might be the least secure software on the planet"

I have both and switch between them, IE does not require Flash Player. Anything that requires I do on IE. Most other stuff I do on Firefox.

You can add the site to your allowed list of sites. In Internet explorer menu bar.
Tools > Internet options > Privacy > Sites
enter the name of the site here, and press allow.
