Yes!! Torre and Rodriguez are both gone. George certainly cannot admit to his mistakes of trying to buy a pennant and World Series. He MUST find a scape goat, and who better than the manager and a player who had a bad year. I am not sure it will be Pinella, but there will be a new manager. Steinbrenner takes no prisoners once he starts cleaning house.

Chow!!!

Billy Martin was hired and fired and hire and fired and....

Although Joe Torre is 66 years old and for Torre to come back in a year or two would be unlikely. Joe and/or Brian Cashman need to be replaced. There is a such thing as over-staying your welcome and Joe Torre might be on his way home and remain on the Yankee roster as some type of advisory position or maybe the front office.

Whatever George Steinbrenner decides to do, it will be in the interests of putting together the nucleus of a great team for 2007. Personally, I was very much surprised the NY Yankees got so close to winning nearly 100 games during the regular season and wind up with the best record in baseball (along with the NY Mets).

But, when you go into the post season, all that gets thrown out and its second season baseball. To the winner belongs the spoils and the loser ... well, goes home and prepares for next year.

the problem's not in the management. it's in the rotation. maybe steinbrenner should devote another 100 million dollars to getting some decent pitchers. or he could fire ron guidry. whatever. the yankees organization is a zoo.

and lou piniella would only last one year (max) in new york. does no one remember his last job at tampa bay? he had no control over his players, especially the bullpen. if steinbrenner hires him, it will be a disaster.

Nope. The Boss blew his top, but the more time he has to think about it, the more I believe Torre will be back next year. The Yanks have no starting pitching, and that's why they lost. Torre did a fantastic job managing the Yanks this season. But if they are going to win another championship, they need to get lights out starting pitching.

Torre will be fired. George has been looking for an excuse for 3 years, but Joe has been too popular. I hadn't heard the A-Rod thing. Very interesting.

Yes, Torre is under huge speculation with not getting the yankees a title since 2006, but I dont think Pinnella is the greatest answer..

I think Piniella will manage the Yankees next year. A-Rod will stick around though. Torre's career is done!
