Well there's no fear of pregnancy.

If you have a nice OBGYN (s)he'll have used vicryl for his added pleasure ;-)

Well ... no ... that actually doesn't happen

but the no fear of pregnancy and the no messy blood is always a plus

Give yourself a lot of time to heal first. I have had a great sex life since my complete hysterectomy 7 years ago. I was also put on hormone replacement since I was not "old enough" to go through the symptoms of menopause (according to my doctor-not the calendar). I have not enjoyed myself so much my entire life as I have these last few years! Good luck!

I had a hysterectomy over 3 years ago. I have one ovary left and I am 34. I was scared to try making love at first...but after the healing and additional time (because of my insecurities)....it really is much better...but then again..I had endometriosis and sex was almost always painful for me... Not anymore! It is soooo much better now!

Good luck to you!

I've never heard of having a total hysterectomy making sex better. From what I've heard (haven't experienced it myself) it can likely make sex less desirable.

For some women it is, because you no longer have to worry about getting pregnant. I know it was better for me after I had my partial. Because I didn't have to worry about pregnancy. But you should wait approx 6 to 8 weeks after your surgery to have sex. Or what ever your doctor tells you.

If you make it so, it will be true.
usually woman say that in some ways it is because they don't fear the pregnancy.
you will have to probably replace the lubrication however if your ovaries are out of there, because your body will start to lack estrogen and your labia and canal will dry out.
