What do you look for in a friend? What do you look for in a best friend?

I'm asking this because I'm so confused as to what friends I should stay friends with and which friends I should not hang out with too much.

I know people aren't perfect, I'm not either, but if I have a friend in which I enjoy some of their qualities but not others, then what do I do?

I could overlook the negative qualities but would it be beneficial for me to hang out with this type of person.

Should I hang out with someone I strive to be like?

Do you have any advice about friends?

Can people be changed?

Sorry for having too many questions, but one question just leads to another.

Give up on trying to change someone. I suggest pointing out things and letting them take it from there. A friend is someone who is not afraid to give a hug or lend a shoulder to cry on.

- funny

- can talk to them about anything
- can get really hyper with each other
- laugh all the time
-have fun
-cares about me
- and all that jazz.

first question-- it doesn't matter. you can hang out with both at the same time, you shouldn't think about which one is better than the other. treat all your friends equally.

second question-- it depends on how negative the qualities are. if you know this person will do no good whatsoever to you, then you can just not hang out with them, but still be nice to them and stuff. it will make you feel good. but if they are mostly full of good qualities, just ignore the bad ones and have fun with that person.

third question-- i have tons of advice on alot of things with friendship. you can just ask me, and i'll probably have an answer. but your advice needs to be more specific. :)

fourth-- yes, by influence-- but i don't think it's good to change people for your own benifit. the person's other friends might not like the change, and you might be in responsibility for some friendships ending.

It depends on what you are looking for in a friend!!! I would like someone that is honest with me, someone that I can depend on, someone that will be there for me, through think and thin. Sorry, I'm not answering all your questions, but, as for people changing, people will only change if they want to. You cannot make them change. Take care.

something that i look for in a friend is someone that i can talk to and that will listen to me and someone that you like to spend time and not easily get tired and start arguing about ever single little time someone that you think will be there 4 u and you'll b there 4 u...some 1 thats fun

u should enjoy the type of people u hang out. of course there will be neagive qualites to a person, but if its really nothing' ignore it. u still accept them for who they are. and they should accept u for who u are. but some friends you'll have to turn down. and u shouldn't hang out with people u wish u could hang out with, but to be with. will they accpet u? or will they say something bad?

YOU DONT HAVE TO LOOK FOR YOUR FRIENDS....picking who do you want to be with coz it is like a mushroom thats comes anytime,and if this happen......treasure it....give importance to them...show them how much you mean and thanks them for coming intoyour life......GOOD LUCK//stop searching..
