I firmly believe it is mostly in the script... sure, you need great actors to pull it off, but with a weak script, not even a veteran actor can save the movie (we've seen that happen too many times). So it mostly boils down to the writing... after that, I think the director is crucial... pulling it altogether to make it work on the big screen.

In my opinion, the following are what makes a movie successful.....
1- special effects.
2- the script must be matched with the actors.
3- a great musical score.
and 4- the fashion design.

The way it is planned out, and the plot of the movie, and whether or not the movie makes any sense. That is just my opinion.

great graphics, a good story line,and lots of action and a little comedy. Rush Hour 1&2 r good examples.

If I want to see it again. Own it on dvd. Then it's succesful! Isn't that all that matters to anyone?
