This is an entry level financial analyst job. Is it a good offer to take up?? What is the income tax like in NYC. Will I be able to get by in the city?

well.. the cost of living are very high in new york. You would have to consider all factors into the cost of living in new york. Consider, the rent, ( can go up to 1500 a month for a single bed room) , food, insurance, cable, light bills and others. YOu have to break it down, and see what you can afford. 46k is ok, I think You'll get by if you buckle down on budget and ya know do your business.

46k down here in alabama is considered above average and cost of living is low here, so you'll be making good money down here. Up there, it's a chump change. you have to work hard to not go broke or hungry.

I suggest you to do market searach on money everywhere in USA and do some compare on salary to make sure you're not being offered below average in new york. Do your homework, make sure you're prepared.

It depends. I would recommend you visit salary.com, where you can get a better idea, plus you can compare NYC's $46k vs. the area of the country where you live in, that way, you would have a more accurate comparison, so you'll decision would be a better informed one. Good luck.
