what is the effect on performance if i mix the following RAM module in my notebook?

slot 1: DDR1 256MB PC2700 333MHZ
slot 2: DDR1 512MB PC3200 400MHZ

FOLLOW-UP QUESTION:

WILL THERE BE CONFLICT ON MODULE'S FSB 333 / 400 MHZ
OR WILL THE LOWER FSB APPLIED ON BOTH?

note book specs:
celeron M 1.4 ghz
SiS M661MX + 963L core logic

The lower speed will end up being used on both.

No.....Dont Worry....your notebook will Support Both.....Only the Lower FSB will be Applied on Both..........Notebook will Run Smoothly........So Just Enjoi

with a new enough notebook, there should be no conflict.
