Magic is not like what you find in Harry Potter, in fact most hollywood or fictional portrayals of magic are pure fantasy. There are a few out there that get some of the aspects right like the films "The Gift" ( more about psychics than magic) and "Stir Of Echoes." They have a more accurate portrayal about real magic, spiritism and psychic ablities then say HarryPotter or The Craft. Real magic isn't about turning pets into water goblets etc...It is about affecting positive change in your life by focusing your Will and directing it to that purpose. It is not really portrayed accurately, because the film would most likely be very boring... It would be like making a film (or a book) about someone "praying with props" which is pretty much what magic & spellwork is. I assure you Magic is real but it is not like Harry Potter.

Wow i've read some nonsense in my time but to hear people saying only magick spelt that way is real magick is beyond belief. What about magik spelt this way and what is the difference between black and white magic/k/ck. Many indigenous peoples have their own forms of working with spells, spirits and nature etc. Some of these peoples have amazing shamans and in the west we had people like Aleister Crowley and SL Magregor Mathers with the Golden Dawn. Also Israel Regardie. Please as soon as someone says this is the only way run like hell. There are many forms, ways and types and if you have a real interst then seek out your teachers. They will come to you then. And read not only about some wizards, but about all the different strands of working with the energy of the universe. So that you can discover for yourself through experience your own divine power.

What happens in Harry Potter is nothing but fiction. Real magick is not done that way. If you are interested in learning about real magick then read the book "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham. It does explain about Wicca but has a lot of good information on witchcraft.

I've been a practicing chaos mage for about seven years now, and Tree of Jesse pretty much summed it up. You can't cast a Patronus or perform a Bat-Bogey Hex in real life, but there is an enormous wealth of information on ritual and ceremonial magic--much of which prevents there ever being a need for the flashy stuff...

Magic is FULLY truly. But it's demonic. Anyone who practices precise magic has demons of their lifestyles. There is LOTS of magic books, however a lot of them don't seem to be "truly magic" I imply, for those who had a youngster, you would not wish them to play with hearth, however rather they play with lighters and matchsticks. (with out lights them) Most men and women could no longer like that. So even supposing you're practising "false truly" magic, it's nonetheless "pretending" to "play" with demons.

I don't believe there is magic like in Harry Potter. I've never seen it anyways and I've been around the magickal community for 14 years in LA, SLC and WA. I did meet a man once who swore up and down that he could make fire appear in his hand. I later learned that it was a "magic trick". I've seen people turn cockroches into pennies! But these are all tricks. Real magick is the concentration of will in accordance with your holy guardian angel. Only once you can speak to your higher being can you perform magick that shows definate quick results.

No, not like in Harry Potter. But yes, magik exists. As in Wiccan magik (spelt with a k to distinguish itself from stage magic). But our magic is more a prayer to the gods than it is "wave your hands and poof something happens".

No. 'Real' magick is more like perception adjustment: by changing the way you see the world and accepting the role of Will (yours) in determining the way the world reacts to you. Ritual is used to give the mind a way to go from one state of consciousness to another. It's an enormous field in its own right.

Magic is just another word for interaction with forces of the universe. If you know their laws and, more important, know yourself, the boundaries of impossible just keep withdrawing.
The yogis and Shaoling monks are good examples of what man is capable of. 'Magic' works, not depending on how we call it.
We are magical and we live in a magical world. If we only knew....

Yes!! I have information on Hogwarts. J.K. Rowling apparently has friends who studied there. Some of the information was changed or incorrect (I don`t know which) in her books though. If you believe in it, or think you might, email me at HailyChampion@yahoo.com
