Please Help. Im so confused, I need to finish my homework.

first, you want to isolate the "2x" by subtracting the 3 from both sides of the equal sign....after doing this you end up with 2x=6. second, you want to isolate the "x" by dividing the 2 from both sides of the equal sign........after doing this you end up with x=3.
