in ancient Greek is ιλύς/ilis
in modern Greek is βούρκος/vourkos

the greek word for silt is vourkos/βουρκος
the siltstone is vourkos xeramenis laspis/βουρκος ξεραμενης λασπης

Ancient Greek :
The suggestion ιλύς = mud,slime
πρόσχωμα (proschoma) = alluvial deposit
πρόσχωσις (proschosis) = silt, alluvial deposit, process of silting up
προσχουν (proschoun) = to silt up
