I mean, someone is on Yahoo Answers to find peace of mind or help, and some people can only give the advice to commit suicide. I mean really, why would you tell someone to kill themselves? They are more than likeley here because they don't want to kill themselves, or if they do, they are trying to avoid it.

Heather, you're right. Messages should be positive and uplifting. Are the responses to help others or just to get points. I'm with you. God needs to guide everyone in life. However, some people seem to be under the influence of the dark forces. Don't dwell on these losers!

The Internet has some serious disadvantages to it in some ways, because it doesn't necessarily promote lengthy and in-depth dialouge. And there is this tendency for some people to be sarcastic and snide when there is little chance for serious back-and-forth discussion. It's easy to just produce a flimsy and callous response, even when the stakes might be very high. People also quickly look to the Internet for quick and easy answers and maybe have their expectations set too high. This is why people still rely on phone and personal discussion instead of e-mail for many things - some discussion requires more interactive exchanges and a better chance to gauge the speaker.

If they really do follow through suggestions of suicide, then I think they shouldn't even be online at all, looking for answers.

If one is looking for advice, the internet is not the best place to look for it.

Personally, I think most of it is nothing more than attention seeking.
