i am located in the sacramento area. I have been applying in the veterinary field, but because of my felony record, no one wants to take a chance on me. i could use a little help from other people who have experienced the same frustrations.

Can you tell me where you are located?

You may want to try the phone book/info line.

There are some support groups in Connecticut. Birmingham Group in Ansonia/Derby for one. It is so terrible that the jusice system allows prisoners to re-enter society without some type of counceling or half way house. It's totally ridiculous. On the other hand, things are so expensive today that no one cares about felons and their rights as "human beings." So the best thing to begin with is to "stay out of trouble."

Easy to say, huh? I know it's not easy adjusting but you must be strong for your self. You may have to start with a low paying job or two. I know someone who did it for two years without a car. Bussing and walking were the only transportation. Slowly but surely things turned out good.
It takes time, but you have to want it and and work hard to get it. My motto for when things are rough is, "This too shall pass."
Pray to God if you're religious. If not, pray anyway. He does help if you ask.
Also, If you have any type of insurance, The Liberation House in Stamford, CT may be able to help.
Take care,
D.
