I have very pale skin. I'am allergic to the tanning bed and I don't get out in the sun either. I have seen older women who use the tanning bed frequently and their skin looks like leather and I have gotten sever burns from the sun(big blisters), plus it takes me quite a while to get tan-ANYWAY I was wondering how well the lotions work that "promise" a gradual tan. Like Jergens, Oil of Olay, etc. Which brand is the best and if I use the one for dark skin will I get darker?

I am fair as well. Do NOT use the one for dark skin.. youll be sorry.. youll turn orange. I found that the Dove Energy Glow self tanner is the best one out there. And it smells good too. Here is the link to the page to read more about it. http://www.dove.us/your_skin/energy_glow_tanning_lotion.asp

I've used Jergens for pale skin and I didn't like it, after a while it gave me an orange look. I've also tried a lotion called Hemp Golden Glow. It worked pretty well, it gave me a nice glow. I bought it at Walmart, I think it was around 5 or 6 bucks. Also, you should only use the lotion for your skin tone, the other ones would be too dramatic.

I hate going in the sun to tan because it really damages your skin so I always use Jergen self tanning lotion. It gives me a natural looking tan. Also always put on sun screen if you dont want to have wrinkles when you are 25 years old!

yes they work, although most of them have a bit to much orange in the color, they tend to dry my skin out its like the product coats the skin and does not allow moisture in. also i dont know if anyone else has noticed this but it tends to make your skin smell bad I'm not sure why but it does. all that said i like ( ST. TROPEZ ) it is very concentrated and has a green base. the green offsets any orange. Be sure you exfoliate your skin very well prior to use, and apply a light moisturizer on knees elbows and any other dry areas. wear gloves as well. i dont use it but its the best you can buy. it still is drying to the skin and leaves that odor. i developed my own here at home and it IS the BEST if i could share i would, sorry!
oh and you can purchase it on line or from ( New Life catalog )

Dont worry about whats (IN) for the season, do what makes you feel beautiful. sophisticated Europeans are boring and pale, men like tan tropical babes, geeks like em too but can only get the pale ones!

The only one that doesn't turn orange and is priced less than an arm and a leg, is Neutrogena. Good Morning America did a blind test in the begining of the summer and three sunless tanners won. Two were European high end producta and one was Neutrogena. I've tried it and it's not orange at all. Read and follow the directions well. You'll like the results.

You probably have incredibly beautiful pale skin.

If you want a gradual tan, any Neutrogena tanning product will work, without turning you orange. You can gradually build a tan with it, just be sure to exfoliate first.

Just work with your skin! Learn to love it!

Pale skin can be beautiful just like every other skin tone, you just need to know what colors to wear, and what kind of make-up styles work best on you.

My mom uses the jergens brand. She is a medium tone and it works for her.
My Boyfriend who is very light started to use it, but to be honest it was stinky and I asked him to stop using it. He is very handsome in my eyes and I am sure you are pretty just the way you are.

Those lotions turn you orange. When it wears off you look like you have leprosy on your feet, ankles, knees, elbows and hands. It looks gross. I tried it once. Never again.
