Which stroke will help you to develop 6 packs?

Thanks for all the reponses. I have been swimming 5 days a week for approximately 2 months (free style), and no result on the 6 packs - only chest, shoulder and arms. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?

Definitely butterfly, but that can be a bit tiring, so when you're swimming laps, mix in other strokes as well. If your goal is to be a better swimmer, practice IMs (Individual Medleys: All four strokes). If your goal is just to develop a 6 pack as fast as possible, just swim a lot of butterfly but with other strokes to warm up and to swim when you get tired.

If your swimming just to get a six pack your doing it for the wrong reason. The best way to get a six pack is by doing all different ab workouts. I myself have a 4 1/2 pack and I never swim but once a week I do all the ab workouts I know in one day. (thats a lot of ab workouts)

Swimming, no matter what you do, is a full body work out. You're using all your muscles. So no matter what you're doing you'll be working out your abdomen. But for the best results, just do normal laps up and down the pool every day. Give it about a month you'll be looking SEXY!

Swimming is a more of a cardiovascular exercise/activity. You aren't going to build very much bulk from swimming. More long lean muscles and burn body fat. If you see swimmers who's ABs are "cut" that is from the "out of the pool" training. Try working your ABs before and after you swim.

yeah butterfly... those really hurt when you do a lot.

if you wanna get 6packs you'd want to work out in a gym AND swim. it would help you get results faster.

Last I heard was breaststroke. Doing leg raise or crunches also helps.

the buterfly stroke and dolphin kicks will most likely build up your abs.
