How to get tobacco stains out of clothes?

We have smoked in the house since 1999, now I have a job & need to clean my nice clothes. When I took them out of the closet there was tobacco down one side of the clothes...Can someone gave me help with cleaning? I would like to use a household or homemade solution. I have already tried just washing them & it's still there....PLEASE HELP SOON.

I've had that problem before. I'll do the laundry and the tobacco stains were still there.
So I started using Oxiclean. It does wonders.
My laundry machine has a pre-soak option on it. So I put a cup (that comes with the Oxiclean) of Oxiclean and my regular laundry detergent in and let it do it's thing.
I've also just put Oxiclean and laundry detergent in the wash, and put it on pause, or lifted the lid, and let it soak for an hour or so.
You'd be surprised at how well it works. And if they're still somewhat stained, repeat the process.

This is a knock-off of the whitening toothpaste idea. I have tried several methods, some worked decent, but I just got an idea a moment ago that worked better than any so far. I figure if whitening toothpaste works, why not go all out and use a teeth whitening gel? I put some PlusWhite speed whitening gel on my fingers and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I then gently scrubbed the gel on the stains with a firm toothbrush. It worked great!!! It removed the stains on my nails too. It appears that one, maybe two, more attempts and the stains will be completely gone!

use your laundry soap. hot water and add vinegar use a nail brush to scrub. wash over and over not letting water drain out okay. watch very close. and hopefully that will work good luck

Don't smoke it kills billions each day do you want to die of lung cancer or other diseases related to smoking. Use stain removers dish liquid let it sit then put it in the wash, try the cleaners
