I am not sure if this is a furphy or urban legend, but it has been going the rounds in Perth this week.

Yeah, it was on. I was watching the 2006 grand final on Ten at my friends place. They were using the main TV for something else. After I came back inside the house, I noticed there was a different score on Fox than on Ten. I checked the time on Ten, then on Fox, Fox was about 58 secs or so behind, but there was a huge difference in the score. I also listened to the radio coverage, to see what the actual score was.
Fox showed that it was displaying the 2005 grand final at three quarter time, when they went to an ad break. The 2006 final was then shown after it, I think it start at 6pm AEST, but not sure. We all had a laugh, and when another friend rang us after the game, we screamed out, "The Swans won!". Lol. I do feel sorry for those people who actually thought it was the 2006 GF.

Yeah they were talking about that on triple j this morning. Apparently something like 50 000 people watched last years game and thought Sydney had won again! Foxtel didn't have the rights to the grand final so they played last years and advertised it as 'Grand final fever' or something. Dodgy.

yes its true i just posted this question last week Foxtel showed last years game as they could not show it live as ch10 had the rights a lot of swans fans went and e-mailed the TV show Sunrise showing there support for a great win not realising they had lost by a point
Personally i think the only thing funnier than the swans losing by a point is a lot of fans watching a replay and thought they had won
a couple of weeks later i am still laughing

in spite of if it is genuine or not approximately 2006 i discover the belief of phil freakibg Jackson speaking some participant (to that end Dwayne wade ) or a team getting particular treatment by using the league for the time of the playoffs extremely hilarious and the top of irony and admittedly hypocrisy.. The NBA has had this undertaking in the previous the place issues looked suspicious by way of fact it possible had alterior motives and conflicts of interest in terms of wanting a undeniable team or participant to prevail by way of fact it became financially useful to the league. And interior the situations the place this got here approximately in the previous(all under david sterns watch i ought to upload) exceptionally much completely had to do (and benefited) phil Jackson's bulls and then hence his lakers! For him of all of us to day it is so ridiculous after in actuality having a participant in Michael Jordan who became allowed to defensively rape human beings on one end of the courtroom and then on the different if a participant lots as blew air on him he became on the foul line.and then a similar element got here approximately with Kobe in l. a.
