He is one of the best players in baseball ever. If you dont like him thats probably because you are jealous of how much money he makes, and the talent he has. He had a "bad" year and still had more RBI's and home runs than any other yankee, and most players in other teams too. feel free to show your support to a great baseball player, if you write anything bad you are just proving that you are jealous.

Yes I do like A-Rod. He is very good and has not done anything wrong but have a few tough octobers. I would take him on my team any day of the week.

A-Rod in the playoffs had eight plate appearances. He’s struck out in half of them. What about the other half? He was out in all but one attempt. He has one lone hit. Despite the Yankees scoring 11 runs , Alex Rodriguez doesn’t have one RBI. Did he have the chances? HELL YEAH HE DID So here’s the A-Rod breakdown.

Here’s what the Yankees are getting for $25 million so far.

Hitting: 1 for 8
Avg: .125
Strikeouts: 50% of the time
RBIs: 0
Walks: 0
Men left on base: 6 (3 per game)

In the game against the Tigers, the Yankees lost by one run. A-Rod didn’t have a single hit and didn’t get on base. He also struck out 3 of 4 times and left three men stranded. Should fans blame A-Rod for today’s loss? I THINK SO!... and I Rest my Case.. and No im not Jealous im just Showing the Facts...

Wow, nice disclaimer to prove your ignorance that no one could have an arguement that could feasibly be correct.

While A-Rod is a great baseball player, he is currently so far inside of his own head, he will need a demolition crew to help him find his way out.

So let me understand something, if he is the best paid athlete in baseball, shouldn't he be the best player in the league? How about on his team? If you asked every GM on every other team who they would rather have, A-Rod or Jeter, 100% will take Jeter. He performs when it matters. Jeter had as many hits in game 1 against the Tigers as A-Rod has in his last 13 postseason games, dating back to game 4 against Boston in 2004.

Here are the numbers for the 4 consecutive losses against Boston in '04, the 5 game loss to Anaheim in '05, and the 4 game loss to Detroit in '06: 5/46 (.109 BA); 1 HR, 3 runs, 2 RBI's. That sounds like a $20 million+ value player?

Actually, it sounds like a guy that should be benched.

As for your stats, do your homework. While he was 1st in RBI's, he finished 2nd to Giambi in HR's. You also failed to bring up that he led the team in strike outs with 139, which was more then his RBI total (121).

While A-Rod is not solely to blame for their loss, his inability to perform in the playoffs and the fact that his teammates know he can't do it in the playoffs leads to bad chemistry and if you even dare to tell me that chemistry has nothing to do with it, then you know jack squat about team athletics.

I believe A-Rod is one of the top 10 active players statistically, but if you are asking me, who happens to be a lifelong Tigers fan, if I had to choose between A-Rod and Carlos Guillen when the playoffs role around, I'm taking Guillen every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

It's like choosing between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Yeah, Manning puts up the stats during the regular season, but who has the rings?

While A-Rod says he is happy in NY, he needs to move to a team where the media will not disect each and every move (Boston, the Mets, Philly, and the teams in Chicago and LA are out) so the pressure will not be heaped solely on his shoulders.

im a yankee fan, but like all the yankee fans not an A-Rod fan, the yankees are meant to win world series not MVP award or having the most homeruns or rbi's, u got to produce in the playoffs, and whats this about leaing the team in numbers did u forget Giambi

I didn't know ARod was to blame for all the other Yankees that didn't hit either against Detroit this year.
He puts up awesome numbers, and if my White Sox don't retain Joe Crede (his agent and the Sox hate each other, Scott Boras), I will take him.
Maybe he is somewhat soft, but he puts up monster numbers and I think he is getting too much flak in NYC. I am a passionate fan, but they need to take a chill pill, and just let him relax, and I am not talking about babying him either.
I can't stand Giambi, tell him to shut up and test him for HGH while we are at it!

I'm hardly jealous of Alex Rodriguez. He's not a guy that I fear when the game is on the line. On the other hand, I would hate to have Derek Jeter come up against my team in a clutch situation.

Sure, Alex Rodriguez has good numbers. But there's one number that counts to me - World Series rings - he has 0.

A-Rod?! He is a great baseball player but he is having a horrible year. I mean c'mon he's batting 8th! Not gonna lie, GREAT yankees player, just not stepping up this year..

Albert Pujols is better.

Your logic is faulty. Because someone says something negative, it does NOT follow that the comment resulted because of jealousy. Anyway, I happen to agree with you that he is one great ball player who had a bad year. All that means is watch out for next year. He will probably win the triple crown!!

Chow!!

If being "the man" means being a 1st class choke job, who will hit 50+ Hr and 150RBI but have none of them be a game-ender, and will either hit into a DP or strike out when a hit is needed to win a game, then YES, he's THE MAN.
