What the old snot should do is keep Torre for the one year left on his contract and let him retire next year with dignity.
After all, Torre stuck by his team all this time, he could at least return the favor.
Next he should fire that a**hole Cashman.
That idiot got no arms when they needed them!

He will begin a house cleaning beginning with firing Torre and giving A-Rod his unconditional release. George never has been given high marks for his knowledge and understanding of the game.
