I reside in new york state and I want to teach computers (i.e. how to use them, software maybe) to K-12 students. If there are any new york state technology/computer teachers reading this, what is your major and what do you recommend?

You get a K-8 or 8-12 teaching degree with an emphasis in technology. You take additional courses to get an endorsement on your teachhing certificate that says you are highly trained in computers.

I'm not from NY, but I would assume that it's pretty much the same case everywhere. Education with a minor or double major in computer science.
