I think we sneak troops from afganistan over into North Korea. We dont really care about Afganistan anymore, so let the drug lords take it over. Opium versus Nuclear weapons...which is more of a threat right now?? We are obligated to do something because part of the treaty that was signed after WWII with Japan was that they would have no offensive military force and in return we would defend the country.

Yes, according to the South Korean news agency "YTN", they verified the success of the nuclear test and the NK officially announced its success.

I personally do not believe there will be armed conflict break out. Why? Because people know that NK's announcement and success of the nulcear test obviously tells itself, that NK is becoming desperate.

If NK just wanted the nuclear power, then they would have conducted the test clendestine and not tell anyone.

Actually NK has been suffering nuemerous internal problems asd well as sanctions from the US and its neighbors, and it became clear that NK is ruining itself from the inside.

In other words, NK has become really desparate.

Now there will be more sanctions, and more of talks, talks and talks by the US and Japan, China , South Korea.

If it is confirmed (as no seismic activity reported) it proves what President Bush has been saying...North Korea can't be trusted and KIM is a lying SOB. But that shouldn't surprise anyone.

And to Wavhead.... you do realize that North and South Korea are still in a state of war? They only signed a cease fire. Plus how many millions of their people have died of starvation, they lack effective and reliable communications and transportation systems and their energy reserves are so low that it is illegal for for the average NK citizen to turn on their lights...use electricity after 7pm?

And when you have a country with a starving population, a lack of industry and transportation they may have little restraint other than use of their weapons to survive.

that's yet another chip on the table for a flesh presser to gamble with. conflict in the previous with North Korea is a conflict with China. i've got not got a crystal ball to tell me if there will be a conflict between N.ok. and yet another usa. i'd think of it is not in all probability.

Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan will start getting nukes and Iran will see that nothing is done about this to North Korea, so they will get to build their nukes and eventually we all get nuked.
