since i had my last visit with the midwife on friday, i have been getting some cramps in the lower part of my belly, and i feel alot of pressure below when this happens. it mainly happens when i am standing up or walking around. the midwife says my baby is fully engaged. i was wondering wether this could be BH,or something else. i have never had them before and dont know what they feel like.also how long will a baby usually be engaged before labour starts. and is there anything i can do to ease the pain a bit, i have been having these pains for almost 3 days on and off and i am really uncomfortable.
i am worried about going into labour because my son is going into hospital for an MRI tomorrow and willl stay over night (he is only 10 months old) & i think its way too early to be going into labour!!! but i'm not sure..i know it might sound like a silly question and i probably should know the answer but i don't. so any advice would be really appreciated.... thankyou..

More than likely - you are on your feet a little too much right now and also stressed out - which can bring on real labor. So try to relax alittle and put your feet up when you can (easier said than done). I had this alot with my pregnancy - you might want to buy a support band for your under your stomach - it will help relieve some of the pressure pains you are feeling. It helped me alot.

I would call your midwife or your OB/GYN and tell them about your symptoms. I think that they would want to see you or have a hospital admission to check you out.

It could be BH, but with discharge involved (depending on the type) it could be the mucus plug (which could be OK this early, but could also be a sign of early labor) or it could be a leaking bag of water, or even some early show (depending on the color).

34 1/2 weeks is a little early, and if you have never had these symptoms before and never have been told you are having BH, it would be worthwhile to get this checked out. Don't feel stupid, there are no stupid questions.

Please go and get checked out by your midwife, or better yet a doctor. This is exactly what happened to my best friend a couple of weeks ago and she ended up having her baby on Wednesday at 34 weeks and 3 days. Luckily her little guy was breathing on his own when born, but will be spending a few weeks in the NICU because of his prematurity. He now has an NG tube in his nose because even at 5.5 lbs he doesn't have the energy to eat well, and my friend is going to the hospital 5 times a day for his feedings since that's the only time they take the babies out of their isolets. Please have ths checked out because having a premature baby, even at this point where you are almost to the end, is no fun.

my advice : CALL THE DOCTOR .... or go to the hospital. You really should get checked if you're that uncomfortable.
