I need to know what motherboard will work best for over clocking a duo 6300

it does not depend on the manufacturer of the mobo but on the chipset. best chipset for the Conroe E6x00 processors is the Intel P965 chipset.
look for a Gigabyte mobo with this chipset. Gigabyte supplies tools with the mainboard with which one simply can overclock CPU, Ram and Graphics card. it can also be done within the BIOS.

Asus, $200 is not low, they don't have very many that are more than that. You need one that supports LGA775, check on their website to compare.
