I am planning a 4.3 swap in my 82 toyota 4X4 what if any tech specs should i get. where would I get a computer? How about a 700r-4? What, other than engine mounts might i have to fabricate to house said engine and trans. where do i get an adapter for the toyota transfer case?

Here is what I would do. Probally you cheapest and surely easiest way out. Swap it out with a carb. motor. Then you don't have to have the computer for nothing. You can buy the motor mounts to convert off the internet. It will be considered small block shevy swap. Those mounts will work. Then I would back it with an older version of the 700R4 before the computer controlled them. That is what I run in the racecar. Use the 4x4 transmission either with the chevy transfer case or buy a adapter plate which i am sure you can find. If not go to a off-road parts store the can tell you where or order one for you. I can't remember which side toyota driveshats run on but if same side as chevy you could just use a chevy transfer case and have your driveshafts made.
