trying for an origianl idea. i want to dress as one half as a guy and the other half as a girl. any interesting ideas to pull it off? have seen it done before on tv. HELP!

This is really a super easy costume. Go to Goodwill or a thrift shop and buy something ultra feminine - like a wedding dress or an evening gown, and a man's suit, tie and shirt.
Then go home lay the two outfits out and cut them right down the middle. You will need to then sew or hot glue them together - right and left halves. On the dress - you will have to include a little flap to glue the two parts of the skirt together (sort of like gaucho pants) - you can use part of the left over skirt for that. For the man's shirt - you will probably want to include the whole tie, and use that to attach to the bodice of your dress. It will help hold the whole then up.
Then all that's left is put have half a hat and half a wig, one glove for the girl and then the shoes. I Hope you have fun!

I know some girls at my school did that for a costume thing. They got girls and guy clothes and cut them in half. Then sew them together. You could also do something like wear guy shorts and then cut off half the skirt but leave the elastic so it will stay up. Also get a wig and tuck half of it under a hat. Just things like that.

So I tried this a few years ago with a 1/2 bride 1/2 groom... Its hard. The easiest way is to keep the male (pants, shirt, ect.) whole and then cut the female (long dress) in 1/2 and sew it to the middle of the male side then cut away any extra showing from the male side.

Wear a skirt with heels and stockings, then wear some sort of shirt a guy would wear, like a jersey and a baseball cap? Or vice versa.
