I agree it is infuriating!! It is beyond my understanding how they could justify what they are doing. They are not showing any thing but hate-which is not a Christian value. What is actually being accomplished by taunting the grieving families-it is judgemental-I know we live in America and free speech and all-but this person died defending our country. Whether you beleive in the War or not you have to be able to see this is just wrong!!! Not sure how they look in the mirror-but they will have their day!

I am frustrated but we live in a free society, unfortunately. These people have a right to protest (and states have passed laws keeping them 300 feet or more away from funerals) even though I think their entire stance is BS. However, these people give all Christians a bad name - except if you send your check to Pat Robertson and the 700 Club every month.

Yes, it is very sad that a church group could possibly believe they are in the right by dirupting someones funeral. If it were a member of their families do you think they would go and protest? Who has given them the freedom to protest to begin with? They should be ashamed and ask for forgiveness.

You do have that right. It's called freedom of speech, and you would look like a fool. Which is exactly what Fred Phelps and his (very small) band of followers look like. By the way, you know they wanted to protest at the funerals of those Amish schoolgirls too?

i do not imagine that's authentic for absolutely everyone to protest at any funeral. The non secular team you're deliberating that protests protection stress funerals is a small sect out of Kansas. they're through no skill affiliated with Jerry Falwell.

As a religious person who was raised in the Army and as a brother serving in Kuwait I am very offended by what they are doing. We all have the right to free speech but there is also morals and decent behavior which they seem to be lacking.

Yeah these people are ridiculous. I believe in religious freedom, but this crosses the line. I believe that we are talking about the same religious group, the Westboro Baptists. These people are just unbelievable. Their official website address is www.godhatesfags.com. I don't care what you believe, that is just plain hateful and unacceptable.

It makes no sense.
I believe they are protesting that because the military allows gays and lesbians to join that the deaths of even straight members are deserved.
Religious nuts like the ones that protest are just stupid. You cannot make sense of them or understand them. And I am willing to bet they will throw a scripture your way to support their ignorant actions. Its all they have.

The scary thing about these jerks is that they really believe that they are right! It is the way they are interpiting the Bible. I think that the crowd should turn on them and kiss some butt! If it happened just once, then maybe they would back off!

The thing is...I really dont think you can call them a "religious" group. Almost all of the members of this so called "Babtist" church are family members....and...no other "Babtist" church will associate themselves with them because of there extremist views about homosexuality. According to the minister....all of the worlds evils are caused because we are not persecuting homosexuality. This fellow is just consumed by his hatred of himself and his own uncertainty about his sexuality and is trying to make everyone else suffer for it.
