Was he the man who discovered America or a man who commited genocide against the indians? Your opinion?

he didn't discover america. he wasn't even the first european to get here. he was a mass murderer, an especially cruel man who chopped off the hands of indians who didn't bring him enough gold.

we should have more holidays in america, but this one should be changed to explorers day, native american day, or just 'fall holiday.' Yeah, fall holiday.

First Mr. Columbus was not a hero or a killer. He did not discover nothing because when his came to America the indians was there in North, Central and South America and in the Caribbean. The real killer are our cowboy, our army, in Mexico Hernan Cortez and the rest or the babarian spaniard that came to conquest the rest fo America.

I think he should be noted for opening this part of the world to western knowledge but I don't think he merits his own holiday- I believe it's a tradition that people have neglected to check the usefulness of.

Well for whatever reason this holiday is celebrated, I like it because we get a day off of school! Anyway I'm Italiano and christopher colombus was italiano so that's the main reason my fam celebrates it.
