They're basically my favorite band, and I REALLY want to see them live for my birthday, it would be the best one I've ever had... but I wanna know how to approach my parents over it. I really wouldn't want anything else for my birthday... just to see AFI would be more than enough...

Make sure your parents are both there and in decent spirits that day. Don't beat around the bush, ask them clearly what you want. Tell them what it means to you and tell them you'll be responable about it and don't do anything iresponsable if you're allowed to go this builds trust that their babygirl is good. Thus you get more freedoms down the road! Hope this helps and good luck.

I dont see them having any problem with it unless it was in another city or state or something. My parents let me go to a No Doubt/Garbage concert when I was 14. I didn't really like the bands that much, but it was the only concert that had ever come to town with bands I'd ever heard of. So if your favorite band is coming to your town or close, then your lucky, thats the only concert I've never been to.

just say that you really want to see them. Everybody wants to see their favorite band! With me I wanted to see Linkin Park in concert so my mom said that I could go and I could bring a friend but she wanted to go and I was 17 at the time (currently 19). If your parents want to go and just make sure everything is cool then let them. It's better than not going! Just be flat out honest with what you want but also be realistic.

I want to see AFI...you are so lucky! I hope you get to go!

make sure your on your best behavior always not just for your birthday but all the time that way when you ask for something in the future they won't think the only time your good is when you want something 2nd you need to make sure you put out everything needed the time, who's gonna be there with you(make sure it's someone your parents trust), how your gonna get get there you gotta think of everything that way when they ask you they'll see how prepared you are and also make sure the band is not to over rated that you wouldn't want your parents to see it sometimes parents get slick and beat us at our own game and ask of they could come (i remember when i was 15 i asked my mother could i go to an usher concert it was the 8701 tour and i was excited me and my sister won tickets off the radio and all we had to do is pay for my moms ticked and when we all got there that was it when he came on he had girls in the polls coming down and everything and before i knew it we were leaving we didn't even get to hear him sing you got it bad) so what ever you do just be positive and think of the best good luck and happy birthday

Do you have an older cousin that could go with you? Then you could approach your parents with the idea that the cousin could be with you at the concert.

Ask your parents to go along with you to the concert. Get them seats behind yours. This way they can watch over you and make sure you do not get into any trouble.

don't be like "ohh pleeeeeeeeease let me go pls pls pls "
just tell them that you really like the band.
RESEARCH INFO ON IT FIRST. such as prices, location etc.. and show them so they know you're willing to help them out a bit.

and then just ask them. if they say no. they say no. it's not the end of the world right :)

Say, "Mommy...Daddy...for my birthday, I'd REALLY like to go to an AFI concert...I love you!..."
Then, if they go for it, invite me!
Good luck!

Well, don't try to sound to needy, and tell them that you really want to go and how much this means to you. They may understand, but if they say no, keep trying. Eventually, they may say yes.
