i TOTALLY agree - i had the same problem - want to be single and free at the moment - just want friends to go out with , etc - so ended up stating my own social group on the internet (through Gumtree) they had a 'dating' section , which i ignored , and a friendship section with TONS of people in the same boat! So i'd say join a group - or start a group , like i did - you won't regret it! (p.s. i'd also say - avoid 'friendship' sites which charge you - it should be free to sit and chat! :-)

Because everyone wants to hook up. I do believe we have lost the meaning of the word friend. But I know what you mean. More friends less dates.

I strongly belive in true friendship . A True Friendship
goes beyond age , location and sex (whether he is m /f ).
