I do toss them in the gentle cycle with cold water, but I don't put them in the dryer. I only hand-wash any silk or wool based material.

Yes, I do this all the time, and so far nothing bad has happened yet. The only thing I don't wash is my coat, because that might turn out bad.

If you bought it, and you like it, you'll hand wash it. Personally, I read the care labels before I buy. I won't buy hand wash or dry clean only tagged items.

hand wash.with 4 kids who has the time to do that?? I believe that is why they invented the washing machine in the first place LOL....
(if it requires handwashing and I know it won't survive I won't buy it)

You don't have to really WASH them at all..... just get a butter knife, scrape off the mud and spray em down with lysol!!
