to stop eating spinach (now its lettuce) because of the danger of e. coli yet high fat products are causing thousands to die each year from heart disease??? Shouldn't there be a warning on all high fat foods proclaiming a diet containing their product could eventually result in heart disease??

No. Learn what you should eat on your own. Stop waiting for a government to tell you what's good for you.

Maybe that's because we have a choice whether to buy the high fat food or not.We don't really have a choice whether the lettuce has e-coli or not.Totally different situation.

Because E Coli can kill you in a couple of hours whereas heart disease takes years and there are are other factors besides diet involved.
