If you have to ask then you're too young. I don't think marriage is the "cut off" age since not everyone on the planet wants or SHOULD get married. I wouldn't tell someone who didn't want to marry that they couldn't have sex, I can't imagine sentencing someone to missing the joys of sex simply because they don't have a piece of paper. But one has to be able to face the consequences of their actions with maturity. One has to be responsible. If you look at some of the questions asked about pregnancy and birth control and "safe sex" on these boards you will find that most of the young people are actually far too young to have sex.

I had sex when I was 17 and was with that boyfriend for 1 1/2 yrs & I still think that I was too young. You need to be mature & with someone for a long time before you have sex. Don't get caught up in doing it just cuz your friends are or cuz you don't want to be a virgin forever - the longer you wait, the better, trust me, you'll agree with me when you're older. And when you do have sex, be sure to use protection.

You are too young if you are not in a committed relationship. Wait for the right guy and always use protection. I waited till I was married. I was 20 back then. I've been happily married for 42 years.

If you are too young to hold a job, drive a car, find your own housing, pay your own bills, be in a committed relationship and effectively take care of another human being, then you are too young for sex.
In other words, wait until you are married.

Any age below married is too young. Save yourself for the one you are going to spend you life with. What an incredible way to show you love someone, to say you refused to have sex with anyone else except your one true love !
