Pregnancy test are best taken when your period is 2 weeks late. You could be going through a cycle change. Give it some more time and then see what happens.

It is possible that you could be pregnant.
You should retake the test in 1 week.

Some physicians have an "Ultrasensitive hCG assay tests" at their office, which can detect pregnancy as early as 7 days after fertilization.

However, the typical urine pregnancy test at your doctor's office only picks up a true pregnancy 79% of the time 2 days before the first expected day of menses.
97% pick up a true pregnancy 7 days after the first day of expected menses and 100% pick up a true pregnancy 11 days after.

The at-home tests are theoretically just as accurate as the ones at the doctor's office. However, due to mistakes in performing and reading instructions, etc. the true accuracy has been shown to be 20% less than the doctor's office. (meaning 1/5 have a negative pregnancy test at home, yet are pregnant!)

In any event, if you are a teenager, you should definitely wait at least 2 weeks after having sex to check for pregnancy.

If you get a false negative home pregnancy test but still your menses does not come, you should retest in 1 week.

If still concerned, go see a doctor...and they can test you.

I hope this helps.

I think most women know when they are pregnant. sit somewhere quiet for a few minutes and just think about how you feel. concentrate on your toes all the way to your fingertips. I know it sounds weird, but if you know your body, and most of us women do, you'll know if you are or aren't without the use of a test. Most pregnancy tests aren't really effective til you've missed your period at least a week. My advice: stop thinking about it, as hard as that may be, and relax. If you don't get your period in the next 4 days... take another one. I would buy a two pack. Or go to a planned parenthood where the test is only $10.

I think you could be. It can take a while for the pregnancy tests to detect it. Try again in a few days. Even after the alloted time, I'd still be staring at my preg tests and if I even saw a faint line I was pretty sure I was. Good luck to you.
