As far as i know, they aren't buggy. Mac's are Virus free in comparison to PC's and that's a result of the operating system which is the software. The Intel processors are hardware. All computers are vulnerable to bugs, but usually bugs happen when the computers are rushed out to market before the companies have had a chance to de-bug them through rigourous testing. I use a Mac and have for a long time and the mac users within my social circle have not complained about the new Intel Processors at all, in fact it's been quite the opposite in that i've heard nothing but good things about them. Mac has a pretty good reputation for releasing quality made products.

To add to the previous posts, Mac OS is based on BSD in large part, which has proven to be rock-solid for my storage servers.

If the Mac OS ever gets more popular, then I'm sure someone will write viruses and crapware for the Mac as well.

No. It's the software that is the issue, not the hardware. And Mac's have been more secure (I'm typing on one now).
