Interesting question. Eyelids should remain functional as intended. One can chose to wear a hat or not.

This was a line in a book from Martina Cole, if you wanted them open they were stapled open using an industrial staple gun -if you wanted them closed they were superglued closed.
Either way shortly afterwards you would be tortured to death!
