I saw Skaife got hit from behind in the 1st lap of the Bathurst 1000. How did it happen and who did it? Whose fault was it?

Skaife had difficulties with his clutch, causing his gears to 'slip'. This meant that he was travelling at very slow speeds on the race track. As per race courtesy, Skaife was travelling on the left of the track. He was, however, hit from behind by Jack Perkins (Rookie). This took place at the turn on to mountain straight, which has quite a steep uphill incline prior to the turn. Perkins was 'boxed in' the left-hand side of the track, and by the time he saw Skaife's car had no time to stop. Most commentators agree that neither driver was at fault, and from the footage I saw yesterday I would have to agree.

major clutch slip at the start, couldn't get it going right, was crawling on the left of the road after the hill on mountain straight and got hit from behind by Larry Perkins son Jack, careered into the left wall and bounced from there to the other side of the road so not good at all cause I'm an HRT supporter.

hope this clears things up.

He had problems with his clutch slipping and was going extremly slow. He got hit from behind by a rookie, but it was not the rookies fault as he had no where to go. And when you think about it it also ruined the rookies race as well as he was put out due to the crash.
