Hot solution would evaporate most of your methylene chloride, resulting in a lower extraction efficiency. It also represents a fire hazard, with flammable fumes in the air.

CH2Cl2 is fairly volitile. if you want to extract anything from tea it's gonna have to be cold. also hot extractions run the risk of fire and that's never good

Does it really matter if it takes 2 minutes to cool down or 5??
