Try keeping a journal. You may not be able to sleep because you have so much on your mind. Sometimes writing your worries down and some plans to alleviate some of them can help your mind relax. Also, make sure you are getting enough exercise or regular activity in the day. Before I started exercising, I had trouble falling asleep too. And if you still can't sleep-get out of bed but don't look at the clock and don't turn on the computer or T.V. Get a book instead, it's less likely to keep you up! Good luck and sweet dreams!

That is a tough question Becca, I have problems sleeping also. I stay away from caffeine, and I tried exorcise just to wear myself out. I have a bad habit of turning all my troubles over in my mind when I am trying to sleep. I have been told to stop it and relax and let my mind go but it is a difficult habit to break. I have been here on yahoo at all kinds of strange hours when I can't sleep. It is something quiet I can do. I am sorry I can't be more help, I hope we both find a way to sleep, I just wanted you to know, you are not the only one.

You are stressing yourself out about falling asleep. I used to do that too. If you can't go to sleep, don't force it. Get up and watch tv or read a book until you feel sleepy. Also, remove all distraction from the bedroom. A lot of people have tv's in their bedrooms, do you?
I know I used to feel that I needed to have the tv on to fall asleep. But it was really just a bad habit, and it actually made me stay up longer. Also, try warm milk w/ vanilla. Good luck & Sweet dreams!

Keep low tone lights around and avoid bright ones. Bright lights tell your body to stay awake. Try and keep your distence from television and other loud flashing things that could adgitate your senses. Its best to read a book or something before bed. Also, caffiene is the enemy. Some people have said that masterbation can help you sleep.

I too have this problem, so i know where you are coming from. Just try to relax. Maybe go for a jog or exercise about an hour before you go to sleep. If you have alot on your mind, you wont be able to sleep, so just try to clear your mind. Try a warm relaxing soothing bubble bath to help you unwind before you lay down, that will help.

Try to avoid caffine afternoon. Try to avoid using the PC more than 2hrs cuz it changes sleep patterns... Also try to fall asleep at 10:30pm then you'll get 8 hrs... to be Honest... it's very difficult but its worth the try.

Benadryl (get the generic). Makes you sleep and is non-habit forming. Plus, it's cheap and it'll do a number on your allergies!
