There are different kinds depending on what kind of light activates it (sunlight, lamp light, flashing light), whether it is waterproof or raintight, how strong a housing it is in, how compact it is, whether it has a fiberoptic cable attached, and how big an electrical load it can turn on. Consumer quality ones for turning on an outside light probably cost about $30 and industrial grade ones that can survive for years in a factory are probably at least $100. More features on those pricier ones make them even more expensive.
