Someone once said "beware giving advice... wise men (people) won't need it; fools won't heed it." and I just wonder where children out in their Halloween garbs would fit into this? Then again, I'd like to think that the lines separating a wise person from a fool are wider than some give credit for. Still... in the giving advice consideration, my 'advice' to you is to think this through. You see, in order to give advice, it is assumed that one has an understanding of what is needed by the advisee. After all, how good is a useless advice? Aside from the fact that you need to know the person in order to give said advice, it would also make the lines of advisees really long (on the possible chance that your advice is very much sought by others) and can really be a tiring effort for you. What can happen would normally be the opposite - no one will go near you - in which case, if this were your original intent, then proceed with your plan. But remember, others have also given you sound advice in avoiding possible repercussions from dissapointed kids who'd 'tricked' by your approach, and would possibly show you tricks of their own - some not as harmless as your advice. Bottom line: Children out doing trick or treat are primarily after the treats - why dissapoint them? Give them their treats, and save your advice for when it may really help someone... but again, be wary of fools and wise people. Happy Halloween!
