I got my labret pierced 3 weeks ago this past Friday and it is still crusting up and I have to keep picking the crust off the ball. Is this normal after having it pierced for 3 weeks?

Mine did the same, as long as there is no pus or odor coming from it (that would indicate an infection) then you are okay. In my experience, it was similar to my body trying to heal itself by forming a sort of scab at the area. Instead of picking at the "crust", try moistening a hand towel and gently dabbing around the piercing.

Yes it is totally normal, don't worry, different people get crusties for different lengths of time and some people never get them at all, every body heals differently.
This is the main reason I tell most of my clients not to get aftercare advice form their friends unless their friend is a doctor or a piercer, because what happened on one person is not necesarily going to happen on another, so while I understand that everyone who has ever been pierced now thinks they know what the answer is I beg you please leave it to the professionals. Every body heals a little differently, it's genetics. So while Rosa H may have not gotten crusties this far into the healing process that in no way means it is abnormal for you to still have them.

I hope so. I got mine done three weeks ago and it's still crusting. It's just the lymph from the open wound seeping out onto the jewelry.

If it's red at all (like mine is) it's likely from irritation. I have a very bad habit of messing with the back of mine with my tongue, so yes, I'm pretty sure it's normal. ;)

No! I got my bottom lip pierced and it stoped after the first week. I used Bactine to stop infections and help with the swelling and the "after" pain.
