I am not sure what level of mutual respect you are talking about. I have seen more hatred and name calling than ever before. It saddens me, really. To think that we can't support ourselves as a country unless everything is happening our way. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't, but either way, we still live in America and still have the common goal of helping our country to survive so that we can wake up and vote another day. Yet so many are so angry and say things like "This isn't my government. I didn't vote Bush." Well maybe you didn't, but it is your government. It is a living, breathing, active government that continues to practice and thrive, whether it is republican or democrat. It isn't about it being your government when you like it and something you disown when you don't.

I hope not. I have been doing research for a book, it is about the loss of civility in political discourse, and as of today I do not think it could sink any lower. So I am hoping things improve not stay the same.

Sometimes I honestly believe the only way it will ever go back to like it was in the 80's is if there is a civil war. Sounds horrible doesn't it?

actual. it quite is truly uncomplicated. Democrats are low existence scum bags led by Ted Kennedy who have been given away with murdering Mary Jo Kopekne by negligent homicide by way of drunkenness. Republicans basically have a oversexed gay member of the residing house, Mark Foley, who has had intercourse with congressional pages. They have been over 18. Who says gays can't be Republicans? And the Dems have New Jersey Governor James McGreevey, who lived a lie and now could be thankfully residing together with his companion.

I am sure when the Dems take over the House and Senate, the Repubs will keep the same level of respect they had when Clinton was in the White House.

Politics have totally corrupted Washington and the average citizen.....I watch the insults back and forth....and all I can think of is that Bush came in on "Family Values"....what happened?????
I am a woman of faith who believes that God is sooooo much bigger than politics.....particularly the far right wing of the republican party, the biggest hypocrites of us all.
