each month your endometrial lining sheds as menstrual cycle. when you have endometriosis, it is thought that some of that lining goes up the opposite way and out through the fallopian tubes. it can then implant itself on whatever it wants. mostly it is the bladder, colon, and ovaries. but researchers are now discovering that it can travel even further such as sites like the lungs and brain. no one knows why yet, probably because not enough research has been done on it.

My sister-in-law had painful periods when she was younger. She had a complete hysterectomy 5 years ago because it turn into a pre-cancerous stage. It travelled to her rectum, kidneys.The doctor said endometriosis can go to any part of your body even your heart. It like scar tissue & sheds during your cycle. It travels through your system until it deposits itself where it decides to. Tammy
