Its an Irish Traditional song
It tells a story and alot of it is like my life. The death of my father and my mother having to raise all of us kids by herself. My family tends to do things in the Irish tradition so it will probably be sad for 5 minutes and then everyone will be drunk for the rest of the week.

It's a song that tells people that the subject of the song was a christian and had settled things with God before "he bought those pine pajamas"

I've left my wishes known and in writing; there's to be a party. First song is to be "Born to Be Wild," by Steppenwolf, and the last song, "MacArthur's Park" and non-stop into "MacArthur's Suite," by Donna Summer. Then they can throw my carcASS in the garbage dump for all I care.
