Seriously, when i was 8-12 years old - half an hour seemed like a lifetime. I remember looking upon 2-3 hours of waiting as almost what i percieve to be a whole day as my current self.

I'm 21 now and damn the time just goes by too fast. I look at my Dad now and he's 47, it only seems like a few weeks ago that we celebrated his 40th and soon before i know it - it'll be his 50th.

I wonder if every generation felt like this - or if time is in fact speeding up in proportion to the universe expanding. Outlandish theory, i know. But still, could someone explain the mental effects of age and why it makes us percieve the passage of time as shorter as we get older.

It's just really getting to me - every day that passes is a missed oppurtunity and there is simply not enough time to follow all the paths i wish to take. It sucks that you have to pick one path and go with it no matter what. Time just doesn't allow second chances.

I really hope there is life after death.

Time does seem to go faster as you get older. But hey, your only a youngster.

When I was 21 it felt like the end. At 40 I thought this is the end.

I am now 53, and just had a day of all days celebrating my mothers 83rd birthday!

As we get older time passes more quickly because we have more to do, and more things to think about.

Enjoy your life, make the most of it.You do get second chances, but sometimes they come too late.

When I'm 85, you will be the same age as I am now, and will probably be answering the same question to another 21 year old.
What will your answer be?

It's a sure sign of 'getting older' when time seems to speed up.

Years ago I wrote a piece of pros about being a child, playing and having the whole day which was 'so full of time.'

Now it seems that there is not enough time in the day to complete all that I'd like to get done.

A couple of evenings back, at 4:30pm, the guy came to give me a Shiatsu treatment (my first with him). When he left I went into the kitchen to make tea and looked at the clock..!

I was amazed to discover that it had gone 7:30pm.

Time just seems to get faster as I (at least) get older.

Sash.

But then, the weekend comes and it goes by really quick (I cant belive its MOnday) so Im in the same situation, waiting for 6 and so on, so I think a lot of people wish there life away, for it to go faster for the things we want... hmmm

Now, my time seems go with the fastest speed. An hour seems like a second. Why? Because I can't do something which i want to do. I believe that you have the same thought.

Live for the now, as you grow up time seems to pass you by! You are now alot more active than you were when you were 8years old, and the tasks are much more complicated. Your attention span is definatley better, and you are less likely to be checking the time!

I think that we are conditioned to live a fast life with all the fast food culture, fast divorces and break ups, fast promotions, etc. But life actually has it's natural rhythm; no tree grows overnight.

We have forgotten to enjoy instances of joy in our lives and are rushing to go from one place to another, with no consideration as per how we are spending our times. In this rush, time escapes from your hands.

Whenever our natural rhythm of life is compromised, we may experience life moving too fast, like in your case, or life moving too slow, as is the case with people living in rural areas, with very less activities to occupy their days with.

It's all relative-when you're born and you're one second old, then reaching two seconds is double your age...now think-two seconds is a minuscule fraction of your current age,and will become increasingly smaller as you age.

Try not to worry about getting old-you're still very young...just accept that you can't change the passage of time and let go,otherwise you'll spend the rest of your life worrying about nothing.

My parents always told me the older you get the faster time seems to go by. The older I get, the more I find they were right!
