Sly's the only answerer on here who is remotely making sense - if goldfish poop is white, something is up. Poop generally should be the color of the food ingested.

"If thin white poop is seen, it is most likely an internal bacterial infection." from http://www.marquette.edu/courses/phys/buxtoni/puregold/disease/symptom/symptom.htm

"Thin white poop: There isnt any color to the poop. This is a sign of a bacterial infection inside of the fish. Fish should be placed on Anitoboitics and feed nothing but anitibotic foods." from

Your fish could have one of 3 things, Internal bacterial infection, parasites or if its looking bubbly and crinkly, discharging egg absorbtion.

You can feed medicated and anti parasite food simutaniously for a 14 day round. Metro Meds and Medi Gold from Goldfish Connection, those are the best out MO. The Gel Teks found at the Local LFS need to actually be bottle fed and takes a experienced handler to accomplish. I am not a fan of the other J. Meds, but they will do in a pinch.

And while I agree with Sly to some extent, Goldies are bigger fish and will poo more then persay tropicals, but some of the trops out there are just as big and messy. They do not have any more diseases then any other fish out there. All fish are susceptical to the same diseases save one and its Koi specific in the form of KHV!

It's poop. I had 2 goldfish before, and one of them had white poop and the other one's was a really dark brown - almost black. Goldfish are known for pooping a lot! That's why you have to clean their tank so often.

It could be caused by an internal parasite. There are medicated foods you could try, but I would recommend using garlic extract above all. See how he/she is after about a week from mixing garlic extract with his/her food.

usually it would be poop but since it is white, it could be worms

It might be albino poo. If it is not the usual color that is not a good sign.

Are you sure of where it is coming from? Maybe the fish is laying a string of eggs.
