Hi If you are referring to a stain that keeps on coming back. There are two reason for stains to come back.
1. If the stain comes back when it dries normally one day then it is a PH problem and you can try using vinegar (one part vinegar to five parts water).
2 If it comes back in one or two weeks then it is a sticky reside from the shampoo it should be extracted using water and a wet vac to remove the sticky reside do not use any more soap on it. It may take two or three tries to remove it

it sounds like you need a GOOD shampooer. It may be that the water is just not being pulled up thought the carpet. Could also mean you have a leak under the carpet threw the wall. My mothers sewer backs up goes threw the wall somehow and seeps threw to the kitchen and some to the living room carpet. go figure.

Try spraying the area with straight white vinegar, it won't stain the carpet and will take the smell out, however if you have used harsh
chemicals prior to this, then I am sorry but you have set the stain and nothing will help.

If you keep having reoccuring stains, that means it's in your carpet padding. You will need to replace the padding in order to fix your problem.
