I've heard of these, and I was wondering if normal people could actually buy them. If so, how much would they cost? If they are not available for the public, are people saying when they will be? I'm wondering because it'd be totally cool walking down the street with one before the are on the sale rack at Target, am I right? ;)

By "invisibility cloaks", I mean the technology that appears in these links:

Have you ever been to a movie studio? Those scenes where someone is standing on a ledge of a building and about to fall into the abyss are created by using a coloured background and projecting an image onto it. In much the same way it is possible to "appear invisible" by wearing the same colour clothes / face paints etc as the background. Of course, the easiest way to become invisible, is to turn off the lights....think about it.

if you read your links, some refer to camouflage, and the other ones to trying to complete the scenery behind you with imaginary images. Camouflage is something you can do yourself, and the background can be created by a good computer.
Have fun...
