512 is cheaper but what's the real differences?

If price isn't your concern, get the 1gb - it's twice the storage capacity. That's the real difference.

well the only difference between a 512 mb and 1gb card is the amount of information it can hold. WIth a 512 card you will be able to store about 100 songs or equivalent amount of information where as a 1gb would hold 200-240 songs or the equivalent information. If you only plan on using it for word documents and things of that nature then 512 would be more than sufficient. I have a 128mb card and it works fine for me. Good luck

Given the affordable prices of the devices today, I would recommend the 1GB flash drive which is twice the capacity of the 512MB drive. Most likely, it won't be long before you're glad you did.

The difference is amount of data held, period. You can get a good 1GB for under $40, so I would definately recommend going for the 1GB.

1GB has more drive.
