A coordinator role is usually a very responsible "hands on" position and is not solely a female role. Generally, coordinator roles allow for more growth opportunity than a traditional assistant role because coordinators seem to do more project work than clerical tasks that assistants are relegated to. Good luck.

In this day and age it doesn't really matter much who has the role of coordinator. As long as you are good at what you do and have the experience. The only place where it would matter is if it were at a place for women only and vice versa if a girl were to apply at an all men place. My nephew works as a receptionist and he loves what he does and no he's not gay. just in case people out there thought this of him.

A coordinator can mean anything. In general, in my work experience, the best description is that it is a job where one coordinates activities, programs, policies, procedures, education, training. It is not a woman's job unless the job is specifically for a woman.
